We provide a nutritious snack every morning and afternoon and each child brings their own lunch. We do have microwaves in each of the classrooms so the teachers can reheat your child’s favorite meals.
Promise is a very family focused center and we love to work and play together. Every month, we have a different event to encourage family fun and fellowship. These events are always incredibly fun and open to everyone in the community!
Children who are ages birth through one year old will be cared for in Room 1; our infant room. We have a quiet sleeping area stocked with beautiful, brand new cribs; two big activity areas where the babies can practice all the new gross motor skills they are learning and a clean spot for eating and doing art projects.
Children who are one through two years old are cared for right next door in Room 2; our toddler room. We have lots of space for doing art, singing, dancing, reading stories and playing with our favorite toys.
In both classrooms, our nurturing teachers will spend plenty of time building a trusting relationship with the children in their care. Your child will be as safe and loved at Promise as they are in your own home.
We accept children into this class on the day that they turn two – and they don’t have to be potty trained! Our nurturing staff understands that developing a trusting relationship with the children in their care is the most important aspect to their day. This class follows a flexible schedule; their different activities will occur in the same order so that the children feel secure and comfortable and know what to expect. We also understand the nature of the two year old and recognize that if a certain activity is not going well, we’ll find something else that they are interested in.
The children are introduced to the same curriculum that the entire school uses. They spend time learning how to sit and listen to a story in circle time, making art projects, playing with math and science activities and doing lots of music and movement! Our teachers also spend plenty of time teaching social and communication skills.
This class is open to children who turn 3 years old by November 1st. They continue to develop their social skills, communication skills, attention span and knowledge. The children are very excited to learn their letters and numbers and are so proud when they can recognize their name!
We know that this age loves to experiment and stretch their independence! We use Handwriting Without Tears to introduce the letters of the alphabet and proper letter formation. The children are also engaged in daily music and movement, language and literacy, math and science, art and faith development activities.
We use Handwriting Without Tears to teach the children proper letter formation and identification. We also use a phonics program to teach the sounds that the letters make. Reading readiness is a priority for us; each classroom has a writing center stocked with various writing utensils, papers and stickers. We also highlight a book and a poem of the month that the teachers share with the children.
There are many activities incorporated into the daily scheduled to ensure that we are providing a well rounded education; including art, math, science, cooking, language, music, movement and faith development.
